📸 PostShot

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 3, 2026

In short: PostShot has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your data. It asks X's public servers for the post you choose to screenshot, and it checks your Pro license key with our license server. Everything else stays on your computer.

What PostShot handles on your device

PostShot runs on x.com and twitter.com to add a camera button to posts. When you click it (or use the keyboard shortcut), PostShot reads the post you chose from the page: its ID, the full text of long posts, the repost count, whether the page is in dark mode, and the IDs of the author's other posts in the same thread. It uses this only to build your image. It does not read your timeline, messages or account.

Your settings, the background image and logo you upload, your monthly free-post count and your license status are stored in your browser's local extension storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.

What leaves your device

Payments

Purchases are handled by Creem as merchant of record. PostShot never sees or stores your card details. Creem's own privacy policy applies to the checkout.

Clipboard and downloads

PostShot writes an image to your clipboard only when you click "Copy image", and saves files only when you click a download button. It never reads your clipboard.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device. Uploading a new background or logo replaces the previous one, and uninstalling the extension deletes everything PostShot stored. "Deactivate this computer" releases your license seat so you can use it elsewhere.

Chrome Web Store user data policy

PostShot's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the features you see, and never for advertising or credit decisions.

Children

PostShot is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
